Robin Gardener has been playing percussion and drum-kit for 20 years, playing handpan as part of the band Persephone in the Underworld, as well as featuring in several audio and video projects.
An ethereal instrument with a unique history, the handpan or 'hang' finds its origins in the Trinidadian steel pan, Indian ghatam, Thai gong and Indonesian gamelan, but it was in Bern, Switzerland, that the original was made.
Currently playing a handpan in the key of E la Sirena, Robin is a Bristol-based handpan player available for private functions at competitive rates, as well as for session and compositional work.
For yoga and wellness events, the handpan is the perfect accompaniment, fostering focus and introspection through its healing reverberations which really fill a room with sound.
