HanG for hire
Robin Gardener has been playing percussion and drum-kit for 20 years, playing handpan as part of the band Persephone in the Underworld, as well as featuring in several audio and video projects.
An ethereal instrument with a unique history, the handpan or 'hang'  finds its origins in the Trinidadian steel pan, Indian ghatam, Thai gong and Indonesian gamelan, but it was in Bern, Switzerland, that the original was made.
Currently playing a handpan in the key of E la Sirena, Robin is a Bristol-based handpan player available for private functions at competitive rates, as well as for session and compositional work.
In art galleries and exhibitions the handpan's sophisticated charm is ideally suited for contemplative thought. The music creates an ambience that focuses the mind without cluttering the soundscape.
